COVID UPDATE - Delta Variant

8/1/2021

Tompkins County Health Department issued a Health Advisory encouraging all residents, regardless of vaccination status, to wear a mask while indoors around others.

We encourage you to read the full announcement here:

Based on these guidelines, we will ask all in-person participants to wear masks as of Mon, Aug 2, 2021. We have disposable masks available for those who do not have one.

99% of all COVID deaths are unvaccinated individuals, and last week a report was released showing that vaccinated folks can still get COVID and carry as much of the virus as an unvaccinated person, but are most often asymptomatic.

All of our staff are vaccinated and, as far as we know, all of our membership is vaccinated as well. But, we have made the choice to require masks of ALL participants to protect those who may not be vaccinated as well as individuals who may be immunocompromised. It is in the best interest of our community that we all take care to protect each other against this new COVID variant that has been known to spread as easily as chickenpox.

Our in-person class numbers continue to be limited and 6' social distancing will be observed. We are confident that you are safe to participate locally but we also continue to offer classes online for those who are uncomfortable or unable to participate in person.

Protocols for "Local" (in-person) Class Participants:

  • Arrive at least 5 minutes early

  • Participants are required to put on a mask before entering the studio (masks provided if you forget to bring one),

    • Masks must be worn until leaving the premises (this includes in the hallway and the bathrooms)

  • Participants must use hand sanitizer upon entering the studio.

    • Optional gloves are provided but you must use hand sanitizer in any case.

  • You must bring your own mat or bring a mat topper (towels are fine). We also have towels and/or mat toppers available for purchase.

    • Mats and props will be cleaned in between classes but you must still use a towel or mat topper.

  • You are encouraged, but not required, to bring your own props if you have them (foam rolls, dynabands, magic circle, etc).

  • Participants will remain 6' apart at all times.

  • Pre-registration is required. No drop-ins will be allowed regardless of the space available.

NO LATE ADMITTANCE WILL BE PERMITTED

If you are going to be even a couple of min late please join us online instead. Having to go through the interview, temperature, and setup process for late arrivals will be far too disruptive to the class. Late arrivals will be marked as a "no-show".

Thank you so much for your patience and cooperation. Stay tuned for more details.
