Pilates Post-rehabilitation Services

Whether recovering from injury or looking to improve your strength, flexibility and general sense of well being before or after surgery, the qualified trainers in The PILATES Room are there for you.

All of our certified Pilates Specialists are highly trained and skilled in identifying and correcting muscle imbalances. Under the guidance of Education and Post-Rehab Director, Chimene Montivero-Cole, MS, PT we work with your Doctor or Physical Therapist to design programs that enhance your road to recovery and speed the process.

The anatomical principles of Pilates addresses posture, muscle performance, and motor control – the same concepts that form the basis of most orthopedic rehabilitation and therapy. Pilates exercises are gentle, progressive, and performed slowly with good postural alignment at all times. These controlled movements are therefore unlikely to lead to re-injury.

In recent years, physical therapists and other rehabilitation specialists have found Pilates techniques to be very useful. A number of our clients have found significant benefit in practicing Pilates post-rehab in order to continue recovery, and subsequently maintain a healthy physical state.

Transitional Pilates Referral Program

The Transitional Pilates Program provides Physical Therapy patients the
opportunity to continue to progress their rehabilitation with a highly trained movement expert, using the skilled and precise work of the Pilates Method.

The many benefits of Pilates include:

  1. reduced risk of injury
  2. improved lung capacity & circulation
  3. improved stamina & strength
  4. improved joint nutrition and mobility
  5. increased bone density
  6. improved muscular coordination, balance, & alignment
  7. decompression of the spine
  8. improved strength in the deep core postural muscles
  9. stimulated immune system
  10. improved athletic performance.

In collaboration with your Physical Therapist, a specialized program will be developed to continue to progress and improve function, either in conjunction with or following discharge from Physical Therapy. A private 55 minute session will include mobility, strengthening, stretching, and neuromuscular re-education exercises using specialized Pilates equipment to meet your post rehabilitation needs.

We look forward to working with you! Please contact The Pilates Room to purchase your package and schedule your sessions.
