Pilates Post-rehabilitation Services
Whether recovering from injury or looking to
improve your strength, flexibility and general
sense of well being before or after surgery,
the qualified trainers in The PILATES Room are
there for you.
All of our certified Pilates Specialists are
highly trained and skilled in identifying and
correcting muscle imbalances. Under the guidance
of Education and Post-Rehab Director, Chimene
Montivero-Cole, MS, PT we work with your Doctor
or Physical Therapist to design programs
that enhance your road to recovery and speed
the process.
The anatomical principles of Pilates addresses
posture, muscle performance, and motor control – the
same concepts that form the basis of most
orthopedic rehabilitation and therapy. Pilates
exercises are gentle, progressive, and performed
slowly with good postural alignment at all
times. These controlled movements are therefore
unlikely to lead to re-injury.
In recent years, physical therapists and other rehabilitation specialists have found Pilates techniques to be very useful. A number of our clients have found significant benefit in practicing Pilates post-rehab in order to continue recovery, and subsequently maintain a healthy physical state.
